This oil is based on a classical Ayurvedic formulation that contains Shellac as an ingredient. Lac resin are basically secretions that solidify and form a resin. It does not contain any bugs. To explain by way of an example, it can be compared to milk, but not to meat.
Incorporation of lac in this oil is as per the instructions of the highly revered Ayurvedic texts called Chakradutt. We endeavor to bring to you the most authentic Ayurvedic formulations. To ensure purity, we use only cosmetic grade lac, following the international standards (as laid down by the Cosmetic Ingredients Review Committee, USA).
